With today’s ecological concerns, many people are considering sod for its environmental benefits.

Sod cools and cleans the atmosphere by reflecting the sun’s heat and absorbing noises, carbon dioxide, and other harmful pollutants. According to the Center for Sports Surface Research (2019), because natural grass transpires, it releases water vapor which evaporates, causing a cooling effect on natural grass areas.

Sod improves air and water quality, along with protecting soil! Turfgrass releases oxygen while absorbing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. One acre of sod produces more oxygen than one acre of rainforest!Grasses deposit carbon into soils which improves the soils productivity by increasing the air and water holing capacity of the soil.
